Park Slope – Washington Park
Hark! Greg’s Trees is coming to the Old Stone House& Washington Park! Gregory Walsh, founder of Greg’s Trees, has been bringing fresh-cut Christmas trees to New York’s neighborhoods for over 35 years. And in the last dozen years, Greg’s Greenwood Park location, with its giant Santa sleigh, epic Christmas mural, and traditional tree lighting celebration, have become a South Slope institution. Now, Greg is proud to bring that same holiday magic to the heart of Park Slope.
For the uninitiated, we must tell you that Greg’s Trees is no ordinary sidewalk tree stand. It’s an experience more akin to visiting an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch: you’re picking out your tree in a winter wonderland that’s fun for the whole family (including pets). Greg’s Trees is open around the clock for the entire holiday season.
Starting on November 26, you can head down to Washington Park on 5th Avenue between 3rd and 4th Streets, and join Greg’s Trees and the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District for their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony (check back here for the schedule).
Once inside Greg’s Trees you’ll be greeted by one of Greg’s “elves” (identifiable by the signature red hoodie), ready to help. You might even spot Santa himself; check Santa’s schedule at Greg’s Trees here and for other locations and dates along Fifth Avenue here. You can take free pictures in any of Greg’s highly Instagrammable character cutouts. Or marvel at a wall of perfect farm-fresh wreaths, decorated and undecorated, all for sale (simply scan the QR code for prices on everything we sell). And then there is Greg’s Christmas Market where you’ll find colorful Christmas lights, decorations, ornaments, garland and roping, Cinco tree stands, and our most popular item, Rudi’s Cuties: charming artisan reindeer made from 100% reclaimed forest deadfall. Speaking of trees, Greg’s claim to fame is having New York City’s best selection of fresh-cut Christmas trees. Wander through averitable forest filled with hundreds of Greg’s Traditional Balsam, Greg’s Classic Fraser, The Noble, and The Nordmann, all ranging from 3′ to jumbo size. Plus, that QR code you’ve already scanned gives you access to special (and specially priced) trees available in-person only: fancy grade Balsams and Frasers, and beautiful Silver Firs fresh from Upstate New York. Breeze through our no-hassle checkout at the Square station. We gladly deliver (and even decorate).

What neighbors are saying:
“I’ve been getting my tree at Greg’s Trees, that huge popup they do every year in Greenwood Park. It’s always a blast. And the trees are unbelievable. I get The Noble. You can’t find Noble Firs anywhere else in Brooklyn.I live in Park Slope proper, so I’m happy there’s going to be a new Greg’s Trees right near here at Washington Park.” -Ari, Park Slope
