Greg’s Trees is back at The Springs Lounge in the heart of Greenpoint’s booming residential section (a special “ho ho ho!” to ourBlue Slip Towers neighbors) near the East River ferry. For the uninitiated, The Springs has a unique mood all its own. Starting in mid-November, The Springs’ retro flamingos-and-palm-trees aesthetic gives way to hot toddies and ugly sweaters, as Greg’s Trees and The Springs team up to transform the lounge into a lodge, and the backyard beer garden into a sparkly Santa Land. After getting your cozy on in front of The Springs’ fireplace, head outside and climb aboard a picture-perfect Santa sleigh; it seatsan entire family. Santa loves to show up; you can check his schedule here. Step behind any of Greg’s famous character cutouts for some highly Instagrammable fun! Next, scan the QR code by the entrance and you’ll have a ‘menu’ with the prices of every item -including every tree of every size- in the palm of your hand. Ready for Greg’s Christmas Shop? That’s where you’ll find a complete line of holiday products, including colorful Christmas lights, decorations, ornaments, garland and roping, Cinco tree stands, and our most popular item, Rudi’s Cuties: charming artisan reindeer made from 100% reclaimed forest deadfall. Greg’s Trees has gorgeous farm-fresh wreaths, both decorated and undecorated. But the main attraction is waiting for you outside: a veritable forest of fresh-cut Christmas trees for sale. Greg’s Trees has New York’s best variety of Christmas trees, including Classic Fraser, Traditional Balsam, and two trees you won’t find anywhere else: The Noble Firand The Nordmann. And you’re in luck: that QR code you’ve already scanned gives you access to special (and specially priced) trees available in-person only: fancy grade Balsams and Frasers, and dazzling Silver firs fresh from Upstate New York. And whether you’re looking for a 3′ cutie or a 12′ jumbo or anything in between, Greg’s “elves” (identifiable by the signature red hoodie) are happy to assist you. A few neighborhood facts: During the Industrial Revolution, Greenpoint went from farmland to factories, and became the heart of New York’s Polish community. In 1979, Pope John Paul II visited Greenpoint.
